As New Zealand’s environmental regulator, the work we do today helps shape the future of Aotearoa.
Our Finance and Systems Group is responsible for the development, management and implementations of programmes and innovations to increase the EPA’s effectiveness and performance.
We are increasing our current capability by appointing an in house customer services representative (CSR) to be the first point of call for our customers.
We are seeking an experienced customer service representative who’s looking for a role to get stuck in and add value from day one. This role will offer plenty of chances to help us design and improve our systems and processes to make sure we’re delivering the best service to our customers.
As one of our brand new CSR’s you’ll get the chance to help us shape what our contact centre will look like going forward. We’d also love you to bring your enthusiasm for continuous improvement – we’ll be looking to you to help us understand why our customers are calling and how we can improve our online tools.
The role will include answering calls and emails from our customers on a range of topics we regulate, including Hazardous Substances and the Emissions Trading Scheme. To keep you busy you’ll also provide our Finance and Systems team with administrative support during any quiet periods on the phone.
We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but we’d love our successful candidate to have:
- Experience as a frontline customer service representative
- Experience in general office and administration
= Is exceptionally well organised
- Has a strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Public sector experience
- A proactive approach with great initiatives
- All the usual skills it takes to succeed (a good work ethic, attention to detail, a great communicator, familiar with the Microsoft Office applications)
- Science qualification (advantageous but not essential)
This position may also suit you if you are looking to get your foot in the door of an organisation with scientific experts and professionals with this same shared vision; or you may be seasoned in offering exceptional customer service; either way we want to hear from you.
What we can offer you:
This is a permanent full-time position based in our central city offices on Lambton Quay. The role provides plenty of variety, interesting and challenging opportunities, working with colleagues focused on making a difference.
Some of the benefits of working with us include on-site weekly M?ori language lessons and regular workshops to develop staff understanding and appreciation of Te Ao M?ori; talks on a variety of topics from fascinating external speakers; and a range of clubs and groups, from gardening to adventure running, that cater to the diverse interests of our staff.
We also offer our staff extra leave on top of the standard legislative requirements.
