Financial Accountant

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for our entire customer billing process, and will ensure our customers are invoiced correctly and our revenue is collected in an accurate and timely manner. You will have high attention to detail, be organised, and thrive in reviewing, creating and managing structured processes, as well as delivering under tight deadlines.

Your main tasks will include:

Revenue

Managing our entire customer billing process to ensure revenue is collected in a timely and accurate manner
Being the champion, and “go-to resource” for all billing system questions
Continually reviewing billing operations, provide recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes
Carrying out regular audits, and analysing and optimising our billing data to ensure accuracy of customer balances
Working with global stakeholders to automate processes & drive system improvements in our billing function
Working with the Customer Team, manage billing escalations, the collection process, and adequately following up with customers about the status of their outstanding payments
Manage the dunnings process
Assist with month-end close process with multi-systems reconciliation and accounts receivable and balance sheet analysis.
Continue to ensure accurate accounting treatment of revenue
Analysis of foreign currency effects on revenue

Forecasting:

Identifying future cash receipts
Analyse and understand the drivers of revenue growth to help drive a increase in revenue
Assist with preparing the revenue growth budget and ongoing forecasts

Sales Tax:

Understand global sales tax requirements as necessary
Manage the filing of sales tax requirements

Other:

Assist with the audit process
Own the global sales commission process
Assisting and identifying new process improvements through technologies.

Requirements:

Ideally, some previous experience in the Billing/Collections team of a recurring revenue, or SaaS, business
Experience in working with spreadsheets, accounting packages and credit card processing systems (e.g. Google Suite, Xero, & Windcave (DPS))
Methodical approach to problem solve independently and in collaboration with other key local and global stakeholders
Exceptional standards of accuracy and attention to detail
A high level of agility along with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, meeting deadlines and multitasking
Ability to influence and partner with business colleagues throughout the organisation to solve operational challenges.
