Senior Financial Accountant

Since 1990, Infotools has led the way in bringing market research data to life using our proprietary cloud software, Harmoni. Clients around the world use our software and services, whether it be just licensing or using our in-house specialists to manage their data and insights. We are moving through an exciting transition after being bought by Ipsos, the world’s third largest market research agency in 2021.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Financial Accountant takes responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and the heavy lifting at month-, quarter- and year-end. They are a champion of good financial practice across the organisation, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include:

  • timely and accurate review and posting of period-end close and accounting transactions (monthly, quarterly, and annual),
  • preparing periodic financial statements and any other periodic reports as required,
  • tax returns – GST, PAYE, FBT, income tax,
  • client billing,
  • advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, making complying with finance procedures effortless,
  • managing our applications for IRD R&D grants,
  • overseeing AR/AP, and monthly payroll processing, liaising with external payroll providers.

About you

You’ll have a good 5+ years as a Financial Accountant (and tax compliance) under your belt and are ready to step up into a more autonomous role. Ideally, you’ve worked in a company with multiple global locations and/or with a global parent company. Or you’re already a Senior Financial Accountant looking for a change of scene. You’ll need to be relevantly tertiary qualified, with CA/ACA.

This is an ever-changing landscape, so you’ll need to be change-agile. The Finance team is only four-strong (across Infotools and Ipsos), so you’ll need to be humble enough to roll up your sleeves and help with the less exciting tasks when needed. It’s a busy role so we’ll be looking for someone who uses a range of time management techniques to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

A bonus would be prior or recent exposure to JDE.
