Senior Software Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior software engineer to join our exciting mission and develop new greenfields products and capabilities for our platform. You’ll join our small, mostly Wellington-based team where you will work together on interesting and complex technical projects for our state-of-the-art platform. You will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a big impact on the architecture and implementation of our software.

The type of work you can get involved in:

  • Work with product owners and engineers to design and develop technical solutions for new features
  • Build state-of-the-art web-based tools that lets our users develop and manage their actuarial and mathematical models and projects
  • Create scalable back-end infrastructure and services for real-time data aggregation and high-performance computation
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and help them grow their knowledge and experience
  • Refine and improve engineering processes — we have an environment that fosters the sharing of ideas


  • 5+ years of software development experience— ideally in Go,  Python, or TypeScript
  • Experience with building React applications
  • Knowledge of architecture and implementation of microservices
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (ideally AWS) and infrastructure-as-code
  • Ability to design software following IT security best practices
  • Understanding of development methodologies such as Agile, Kanban, and Scrum
  • Experience working with git, branching and merging, and code reviews
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team or autonomously on your own
