Role Purpose & Overview
We're looking for a mid or senior level BA to join our team on a 12 month ftc, in either a full or part time capacity.
At Envato, the BA is an “all-rounder”, focused on both business and technical concerns, ensuring we are focused on the right problems, and helping teams realise their goal of designing and bringing solutions to life as they iterate on a problem/opportunity.
You'll be embedded in a cross-functional delivery team and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver solutions involving bespoke software development and third party integrations.
You will be capable of succeeding within spaces of varying complexity (as defined in the Cynefin framework for making sense of domains), where the problems/opportunities tend to range from complicated to complex, and sometimes chaotic.
Key Responsibilities
      • Analysis of Problems and Opportunities
      • Increase clarity by analysing a problem or opportunity, and helping to drive high performance by building a shared understanding with Envato teams
      • Conduct activities such as root problem definition, as-is/to-be process mapping, exploring system behaviour, concept mapping, requirements elicitation, estimation, benefit/outcome definition and quantification.
      • Lead agile delivery teams to realise their goals of designing and bringing solutions to life as they iterate on a problem/opportunity.
      • Perform these activities in the context of what are often complex problems requiring the development of ‘emerging practice’.
      • Delivery Partnership and Coordination
      • Enable Envato to execute by supporting the team through the agile software development lifecycle.
      • Participate constructively in delivery team rituals, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, estimation and retros.
      • Collaborate with delivery team members to help them understand the value to the community of the thing they are working on, provide business context, and help solve technical problems.
      • Facilitate conversations with delivery team members and others, to ensure the team has robust feedback loops.
      • Own release coordination activities such as community comms, liaising with partner teams to provide updates, manual testing etc.
      • Decision Making and Influencing
      • Proactively build relationships at all levels across the organisation
      • Influence the decision making process, by presenting appropriate information to the right stakeholders at the right time, and implementing a process to navigate the decision making process
      • Communicate outcomes across the organisation and drive action
      • Enable Envato to be agile through rapid and informed decision making.
    • Commercial, technical & domain knowledge:
    • Build a shared understanding of knowledge with others
    • Comfortable talking about Envato’s business across all functions, including business models across product, strategy, risk (commercial and compliance), competitors and  financials
    • Possess broad domain knowledge across a number of areas, and deep knowledge specific to the domain you are working in
    • Comfortable talking about technology across all Envato functions.
About You
    • A mid or senior level BA, who has successfully navigated through complex problems, systems analysis, technical analysis or business analysis
    • Experience partnering with cross-functional delivery teams, operating in an agile context
    • Experience in delivering digital products
    • Ability to write basic to intermediate level database queries, and a basic understanding of how to work with data.
    • Familiarity with transactional / eCommerce / online marketplaces would be greatly advantageous
    • Communicator: an expert in communicating topics with nuance and clarity to different audiences, across both written and verbal mediums, understanding that effective communication has not occurred unless all parties have comprehended the same message.
    • Data guided: ability to identify problems and opportunities, and make decisions based on insights derived from data; ability to source (often through a wide range of sources and methods) and make sense of data, building a shared understanding of what the data means, and how it impacts decisions.
    • Facilitator: a ‘liaisor’, dedicated to bringing people and teams together for the purpose of building shared understanding
    • Outcome driven and agile mindset

: an understanding of outcomes that matter, how they are measured, and how to drive them, knowing that by doing 'just enough' work up front, and pushing out changes ASAP, we create value for the community ASAP and learn ASAP, and that through a process of iteration, we'll keep creating value and keep learning, and there will be a point where it makes sense to stop or pivot as things change.

    • Curious and open minded: a curious mindset, often asking ‘why?’ in an attempt to understand the root cause of a problem or opportunity; displaying scientific thinking - constantly aware of the limits of your understanding, doubting what you know, curious about what you don't know, and updating your view based on new data.
