RocketWerkz is an ambitious video games studio based on Auckland’s waterfront but with flexible working options. Founded by Dean Hall, creator of hit survival games DayZ and Icarus, we are independently run but have the backing of one of the world's largest games companies. Our two major published PC games are Icarus and Stationeers, but we have multiple secret projects on the go.

We are looking for a People & Talent Manager who will drive culture and engagement, ensuring all staff have the best coaching and HR advice to enable them to be successful. You can help them unleash their inner geek; it can't hurt if you have one, too.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage recruitment, selection process and onboarding
  • Partner with team leads to help teams grow in skill and in size
  • Manage the candidate experience end to end
  • Provide coaching and advice on all employment-related matters
  • Ensure best practice solutions for health and safety, employment relations and immigration whilst adhering to legislation
  • Support current and future business needs through development, engagement, motivation and training
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems and procedures across the studio
  • Manage diversity initiatives and our relationships with tertiary education providers
  • Provide services to staff in Auckland and remote
Job requirements
  • Proven experience as HR manager or HR Consultant
  • Experience in recruitment
  • People-oriented and results-driven
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand employment law and HR best practice

The position is ideally full-time, onsite in Auckland but with flexible working options. Assistance is provided for relocation & support for obtaining a visa.
