The Role

The Senior Interaction /UI Designer will be an integral part of the Seequent’s Experience Design team. You will lead efforts to design and define the interactions and interfaces that will engage our customers and transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful product and service launches. You will work to create a best in class customer experience for Seequent’s software applications including UX design and review, customer journey maps, web-based product and service experiences. The ideal candidate has a passion for user centred design and has a wide breadth of experience across multiple types of products, channels and design methodologies.

This position is open to remote candidates within New Zealand. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web, cloud and mobile platforms.
  • Contribute as a senior leader to the design of Seequent’s visual language.
  • Leverage UX to deliver UI specifications, design standards, hi-fidelity prototypes and customer-ready assets.
  • Take ideas and business concepts, designing an effective and compelling interface to our internal and external audience.
  • Work closely with UX team to turn journeys, lo-fi wireframes into high fidelity designs that illustrate simplicity, despite complexity of our software, services and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product owners, product managers, product developers, marketing, and other team members, documenting progress and status of work during status meetings

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 5 - 8 years’ experience designing digital software products and services across cloud, desktop and beyond.
  • Experience in the creation, development and maintenance of Visual Design Systems for digital products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be an effective presenter and negotiator.
  • A background and fluency in traditional web design methodologies across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Experience working in lean/ agile environments and data visualisation skills would be an advantage.
  •  Your portfolio should: show a passion for layout, typography and visual hierarchy; articulate your design process; and demonstrate the ability to think across mediums and contexts.

Software requirements:

  • Sketch, Figma or similar
  • Collaborative Prototyping software Marvel, InVision or similar
  • Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software a plus
