  • Fleet Support Service Coordinator
Can you assist our friendly Fleet team in getting the vehicles to where they need to be for repairs & maintenance & provide other logistical support?

    About us

We are proud to be the only paramedic service in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and the only ones in the country who are free. It’s nice to be an iconic part of this region. Taking health care to the patient in the community is predominately what we do. We are in a time of exciting change as we work together, and with our partners to begin to build an integrated system that gets people the care they really need.

    The role

As our Fleet Support Services Coordinator you will be responsible for the supporting the operational day to day needs of our fleet. A key part of this is booking the vehicles in for repair, driving it to the appropriate mechanic and picking it up when it’s repaired.

In short, you will be required to ensure the vehicles are where they need to be at the right time for maintenance and servicing. This is a key role to Wellington Free to ensure the vehicles are ready for operational use by our front-line staff and we can continue the life-saving work that we do.

Another function of this role is checking the contents of the ambulances to ensure they are fully equipped, other general maintenance, and for the right candidate, mechanical tinkering.

You will be part of our Fleet team and work with the wider business on their fleet requirements. This is a 12-month fixed term role for the period of our new fleet implementation.

    Who we are looking for

This role will be suited to someone wanting entry level experience in the Automotive Industry. A mechanical background or qualification is not a requirement, but basic mechanical skills or an interest in the field would be an advantage. Full training will be provided.

To be successful you will need:

    • A full clean driver’s licence

    • The ability to think outside the box

    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders

    • Proven planning and problem-solving skills

To apply, please follow the instructions found here: https://wfa.elmotalent.co.nz/careers/external/job/view/65?source=6

Wellington Free Ambulance is committed to being an equal opportunity employer with a focus on ensuring equity, diversity and inclusion to provide a stronger internal and external culture and to improve our organisational performance. We value and embrace differences in all people and encourage diverse ways of thinking and being.
